Claude vs ChatGPT for Malaysian SMEs
Claude and ChatGPT are assistants from two different companies. For a Malaysian SME, pick the one your team will actually use, then build one real workflow in it.
They are different products. Neither is “the Malaysian one”.
Claude is made by Anthropic. ChatGPT is made by OpenAI. Both let you type in plain language and get a draft back: an email, a summary, a first pass at a report. Both can be wrong. Someone on your team still has to check figures, names and anything a customer will read.
There is no single score that says one of them is the right tool for every Malaysian SME. This page will not invent one. The practical question is narrower: which assistant will your people open on Monday morning, with a real task in front of them?
What is actually different
- They come from different companies, with different products, accounts and habits around them.
- Your files, prompts and half-finished workflows may already live in one of them. Moving has a cost, even when the other tool is capable.
- A course is built around one of them. Claude Malaysia’s workshops, community and builds are set up around Claude. A course built around ChatGPT is a different room, and that can be the right room for a team that already lives there.
What is the same, for an operator: you still have to describe the job clearly, you still have to check the output, and you still should start with one repetitive task rather than a plan to replace the whole company.
How to choose without a leaderboard
If the team already does useful work in ChatGPT, a class that forces a switch on day one may not stick. If you want to learn Claude alongside other Malaysian business owners, in a room where you build a workflow instead of watching slides, that is what these workshops are. No coding background is required. The community has 4,000+ members and is free to join. The 1-day and 2-day company programmes can be claimed under HRD Corp SBL-Khas by registered employers.
Other trainers in Malaysia teach Claude, ChatGPT and other tools. Compare them on whether you leave with something running for your business, who the room is for, and whether a company session is claimable. A louder claim is not a better class.
